About Us

Betterflycasting was formed by Lawrence Meechan and is based in Central Scotland. Lawrence is a fully qualified instructor in single handed fly casting having been certified through the rigorous Scottish Game Anglers Instructors Certificate (SGAIC).  

Lawrence has supported numerous fishing clubs, the Scottish National Ladies and Youth Teams and charities such as Casting for Recovery.

He is passionate about helping others enjoy their fly fishing having found that as a young boy he had no one to show him how to catch fish. This resulted in years of frustration and picking up many bad fishing habits.
